Thomas E. Jensen, 69, died Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9am, Saturday, August 18th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father John Spiegel officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mercy Hospital Foundation for the Mercy Hospice. Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service.
Tom was born March 7, 1943 in Iowa City, the son of Aage and Evelyn Seydel Jensen. He was a 1961 graduate of Regina High School and member of the Army Reserve.
Tom resided in the Chicago area for many years where he was a Teamster. He returned to Iowa City five years ago.
Survivors include four children, Tad Jensen of Grand Rapids, MI, Kimberly (Ron) Fladhammer and Kiri Jensen, both of Joliet, IL, and Tim Jensen of Bolingbrook, IL; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; his mother Evelyn; four brothers, Jim (Mary Ellen) Jensen, Dick (Deb) Jensen, Jerry Jensen and Chuck Jensen, and sister-in-law, Trish Jensen, all of Iowa City; his former spouse, Karen of Decatur, MI; and numerous extended family.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, siblings Bill and Julie; and his niece Jeanne.
