Michael Alan Walton, 48, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Michael was born June 9, 1964 in Iowa City, the oldest of three children. He worked alongside his father in the family business (Always Interstate Trucking Company) until he purchased the company from his parents. Mike later decided to broaden his career in transportation when he closed the family company to start a new adventure with Re-trans and Sethness.
Michael was an avid sports fan whether he was watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears or the Cubs. He also enjoyed golfing with family and friends and spending his free time with his nieces and nephews whenever possible.
Michael is survived by his mother Mary Petsche Walton, two sisters Laura Walton Dooley and Linda Strabala (Glenn), two nieces Jessica Dooley and Kalei Strabala, a nephew Logan Strabala, and a significant other Darci Monson. Michael was preceded in death by his father Roy Walton.

Memorials:
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Michael Alan Walton Memorial Fund in care of Hills Bank and Trust.


Visitation:
A gathering to celebrate Michael’s life will be held from 3-5pm on Tuesday, August 21 at Lensing Funeral Home, 605 Kirkwood Avenue, Iowa City, where a prayer service will begin at 5:30pm. Following the prayer service, the family will host a dinner at The Kirkwood Room, 515 Kirkwood Avenue (building adjacent to Lensing Funeral Home).

Service:
A prayer service will begin at 5:30 pm.

Cemetery:
Private family burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City.
